Bad Luck

June is for me a busy month in the garden. So there is little time left for photographing.

Last monday I had a few hours to spend. The weatherforecast promised sunny spells. But once I sat on my bike it soon seemed that they were apparently not meant for the area where I live. The sky was and stayed gray, but it was my lucky day............ I thought.

Just near the nature reserve De Groene Jonker I saw for the first time in my life a Purple Heron. Fast and very carefully I grabbed the camera and ........  the bird was gone.

Moments later I couldn't believe my eyes. A Spoonbill was foraging closeby. Yippee, he was mine. At the same time I saw a woman coming, walking her dog between me and the Spoonbill. I quickly pressed the button of my camera, just fast enough to catch the dripping wingtip.

After a few miles I saw a White Wagtail that just had caught a large dragonfly. A thick gray cloud did not make things more beautiful. Another case of bad luck.

So it went on for a while. Reason for me to end this blog with a few better photos which I made in the local botanical garden. Next time I will try again to photograph in the nature reserve.
